Optometric Physicians specialize in understanding how the human eye really works, as well as diseases and conditions that affect your vision—many of which do not always have obvious symptoms. Optometric Physicians know how age and risk factors affect vision over time for young and old, and they understand the benefits and features of corrective lenses, both as eyeglass lenses and contact lenses.
At Stanwood Eye Clinic, our optometric physician takes the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describe your options and listen to your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, we encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing and treating potential vision problems.
Meet our Stanwood Optometric Physician:
Dr. Nixon earned his Bachelor degree in Microbiology from Montana State University and his Optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry.
After graduation Dr. Nixon started his career working in downtown Seattle with a distinguished eye surgeon, Roger Johnson, MD. Dr. Nixon went on to purchase a practice in Mountlake Terrace were he shared this practice with the late Dr. David Betts, until 1999. In 1985 Dr. Nixon started Stanwood Eye Clinic and made it his only practice in 1999. Determined to provide the best care available, he designed the facility on Pioneer Highway, which utilizes the most advanced technology available.
When not in the office, Dr. Nixon enjoys traveling and home improvements. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and two children with very busy school and sport schedules.
